Gay Australian Musical in Japan

"Liza Minelli"
Former Takarazuka star, Jun Shibuki, will appear as Liza Minelli in a Japanese version of "The Boy From Oz", a musical based on the life of her husband, Peter Allen. The role of Allen, played by Hugh Jackman on Broadway, will be taken by Masayuki Sakamoto of V6. Sakamoto says that there are not many gay roles on stage so he is excited at the prospect.
Talkin' Broadway Review
I offer up The Boy From Oz as proof that the dazzling star vehicle of yesteryear is deader than... well, The Boy From Oz. While pretending to celebrate pop icon Peter Allen...the show succeeds at doing little more than paying tribute to the accepted mediocrity so prevalent on today's Broadway stages.

I saw the Australian version in Australia and it was brilliant. But if you have no idea who Peter Allen was or how important he was in his day then it may be lost on you.

Hugh Jackman got rave reviews on Broadway but the musical itself was deemed mediocre. Jun Shibuki has a rabid following in Japan so she'll pull the punters in. It is a very camp show so it will be interesting to see how that comes across. Takarazuka shows can be pretty camp but in a different manner although I think the audience will be fairly similar.

Why are people picking fake plastic AI music over real musicians

Maybe the Artificial Gay Lesbo AI Robot Auto-tuned will take over

What happens when you take too much booze and drugs in the Chicago jazz scene during the late 1940s Sun Ra, was an American jazz 'composer', plus a 'bandleader'...John T. "Fess" Whatley of Alabama did his best to fix this guy's ears but nothing...only 'jazz' sound

The US department of education tends to produce a lot of 'Rap' these days

Today
A decline of the Japanese music pop rap rock industry...No more recommendations for good Pop Japanese music...the K-pop wave takes over.

but Sun Ra is getting better as the standards of Western music drop

上原 ひろみ trained in by Frederick Russell Jones before he found the pedo islamic texts and changed his name to 'Ahmad Jamal' she's now owned by Telarc International
maybe Hiromi Uehara can go full Sun-Ra, join him and put on her stupid goofy grin

Here's the thing if they got one of these jazz educated musicians that magazines fawn over that can't keep a note in their head play the "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Superbowl...tone deaf jazz people, yep the ordinary people would soon agree the Dept needs to be eliminated

as songs go the Star-Spangled Banner is not very complicated, the original poem has four stanzas, only the first is commonly sung today.

and more musical crap?

‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ To Make Australian Debut In Brisbane

Music when would it go to another level?
perhaps it would go scary they said, Sharon Apple シャロン・アップル a virtual idol and one of the antagonists of the Macross Plus an artificially created idol singer making 'new sounds'
When I was young I thought maybe Japan would make music truly evolve, more than just folk or jazz or tradition but a new exotic microtone scale going to the mainstream...maybe the Chinese will get there first.

while Pop music is the death of music and jazz is also the death of music its seems the music is still in evolution, growing inside movie scores and video games and experimental artists

as for AI and music and film?

Japan jazz seems dead thankfully, I won't miss it

and Japan jazz we can talk about vists by drunken drug addicts Art Pepper, the Post-Bop nonsense on drums played by Elvin Jones, or Tadataka Unno 海野 雅威 a Japanese jazz PENIS-ist and his recovery after some NYC rapper crackheads decided to beat the crap out of him calling him some CovidChineseMuddaFukka and his current journey into recovery
