The Corporation

:D

THE CORPORATION, an unprecedented box office hit in Canada, is now launching across the USA. Coming this fall also to Australia and the UK. Winner of seven audience choice awards including one from the Sundance Film Festival, the film inspires people to ask: What can I do now? We encourage theatre goers to organize groups to attend the film together. Why not meet for dinner to talk about the issues it raises? For groups of 10 or more contact your local theatre for group sale rates.

Will this ever make it to Japan? As I see it's going to Australia, UK, US, etc...

honestly!? the amount of stuff i could have posted over the months and years ive looked at this site - if i had have just taken the loosely link it to Japan approach  no offense BB

I reacon itll come here - but it will be restricted to small art-house theatres and DVD.. if it had gotten half the publicity Farenheit 911 did then maybe thered be some pressure on the distribution companies to take on the challenge of getting it out here - however, most of these same dist. companies are incorporated arent they? ..a conflict of interests right?

It's the same old garbage

Any thing that is said to be the next Bowling for Combine has probably a lot of BS, not to mention considering Michael Moore as a credible source of information pretty much discredits the film itself. It sounds like the same old "Corporations are Evil spiel".

If Michael Moore is so off base,
How come Shrub and company haven't sued him for libel. Cuz they can't because its factual. Spun? Yes. But still factual.

As far as "The Corporation" goes. I'll see it. Gonna see F-911 tomorrow.
I will not abide ignorant intolerance just for the sake of getting along.

Alex Jones

Postby emperor » Fri Jul 09, 2004 1:00 am

Im slightly freaked out by the things a guy called Alex Jones has to say (and a little bit by Alex Jones himself)...

Ive been listening to some recordings of his show - hes a conspiracy theorist and while some the stuff he says is kind of "crackpotish".. he interviews some very well connected and insightful people..

Do you know any small art-house theaters interested in showing or screening independent films? I have a friend coming who wants to show his film in the Shibuya area. I laughed in his face, but others might know more than 'TIJ laughter'.

I started a new thread for the topic: Art-House Theater Locations - http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forums/showthread.php?p=56546#post56546
(spank me if this has been discussed)

:D I know it is loosely connected to Japan, but most media content sucks in Japan, so I have to look abroad. And I noticed this film is slowly spreading. Just wondered if it will ever make it to Japan. I'd say it will indeed make it to DVD here, but I was wondering about a theater showing.

I think it's good to see documentary type films doing well at the box office. As for the content, watch it yourself and be your own judge.

And I am with AO here, if indeed he was slandering and outright lying about the points in the movie, certainly they'd be sued.. why have they not? Good question.

According to the IMDB page for this, the running time in the US will be 145 minutes - which isn't the full deal. At the Hong Kong Int'l Film Festival a 165 minute cut was shown.

Also of note, this was originally done as set of 3, one-hour TV specials on Canadian TV. I've watched the first two and it's pretty good so far. Instead of a "corporations are evil" message bashing you over the head, it's much more of a "would you take a look at this" and "how did things get to be this way" kind of presentation.
More caustic. Less saint.
