"Party Panda" by Ken Kagami
AMG: "Milk Man" by Deerhoof
Inspired by the spooky yet adorable work of illustrator Ken Kagami — whose art graces the album's cover and liner notes — Milk Man tells the tale of a masked, pied piper-like being who lures children into his dreamland and then traps them there.
Pitchformedia: Deerhoof Interview
Pitchfork: How are you received in Japan?
Satomi: Good! The difference is in the U.S. when I sing something simple, people think I'm dumb, but in Japan, people think, "Oh, that's so deep!" So many people give good comments to me about them. Just really different. Like on "Koneko", which is going to be on the split, I sing "Kitten's small, Kitten's growing"-- people in Japan are like "That's so great!"
