Have any of you heard this singer. He sounds a little like the second coming of Frank Sinatra. Quite nice music to sit and listen to on a relaxing Golden Week day. 8)
btw the name is pronounced boo ble, not bubble

Hey Ichigo party girl

I like your style. Yes it is very good mood music. I like his jazzy style, but when he is doing covers of Queen it doesn't sound so good. Stick to the sultry big band sound.

I reckon aye. He is simply divine when sticking to the jazz and the old school ballads. But when he cranks out the more 'modern' music he sorta just sounds like he is crying out for $$$$
I think he is trying to attract a different audience with that sort of sound, maybe a younger sort of following.

Ignorant rock music fans. If only they knew what a useful tool his music and that like his is...........

He's from Vancouver and or a month there we were saturated with promotional spots for him and then they just let his natural gifts take him to new heights. A major success in a short time... proof that talent trumps silliness (pop-tarts, American Idols, etc.)
BTW Do you think a show like American Idol, Canadian Idol, (UK) Idol would work in Japan? I think it would... eventhough the Japanese aren't tied to the tube like we are.

Man what are you talking about. Japanese people watch more hours of tv than anybody in the world. And don't take my word for it. There was a survey out just a couple of weeks ago, and the Japanese ranked highest on amount of tv watched per day.
Now about the idol thing, yeah I think Japanese people would like it, but they wouldn't be able to vote anybody off.

There's no way Japanese watch more TV. Maybe housewives. But that's not different. All the men are working all day and networking/socialising all night. Weekends have terrible programing and the kids are studying/doing club activities. The only programs I'm sure have a wicked draw is the news and baseball. I wonder what percentage of households actually have pay services (cable, satellite)? Not nearly as many as North America. Michael Moore didn't call his old show "TV Nation" for nothing :)

I told you

Not to take my word for it, so here is the information.
"The Japanese watched the most television last year, clocking in a daily average of five hours.

Americans were second, followed by Argentinians and the Greeks, who consumed four hours and 25 minutes and four hours and four minutes, respectively."
Here is the link if you want to read more about it.

Also I was thinking about the idol thing, and now I don't think it would work in Japan, as they only like to see stars on tv. They wouldn't be interested in seeing your typical Joe Shmoe on the stage singing. It would be too much like a typical Karaoke night out for most people

That's amazing.... I still can't believe it.
As to Karaoke on TV they do have shows like that... but none with prizes consisting of a record contract. Morning Musume failed an audition for such a talent show and were picked up by watzhisname who was a judge.
