In Paramount Pictures' upcoming remake of Bad News Bears, Billy Bob Thornton plays Morris Buttermaker, the drunken coach of a Little League team made-up solely of troublemakers and misfits....
....Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the Bad News Bears screenwriters, also wrote Billy Bob's hit comedy Bad Santa....."We're making a low-budget movie, because we feel that's the best way to make the movie, and it's hard to get low-budget movies made."
They both doubted that they'll be writing a remake of The Bad News Bears Go To Japan any time soon.
Bad News Bears comes out on July 22.

I love the originals. It's a perfect story line. Billy Bob Thorton will make a great 'Boilermaker' but what's with calling him 'Buttermaker'? If there's anything Bad News Bears shouldn't be it's PC! The funniest thing about that movie is Boilermaker getting drunk around those fucked up kids. The seventies rocked! People are so uptight these days. Buttermaker my ass, stick it where the sun don't shine!

Oh shit I just googled it and Buttermaker was his real name in the original and Boilermaker just his nickname. Oops.
