Right on! But what on earth drove her to write a book like that?

She had started writing it years ago and she was in Saipan on a writing sabattical when the earthquake hit. So she shelved it for a while.

She has written a bunch of stuff about relationships etc from her first "Being a Broad" mags and then books. I think it then grew into an advice column for J-women called "Ask Caroline" in Japanese and then this one for J-men was the next one.

In the magazine she always had a column about finding love and relationships in Japan.

OK, so this was not her first work on the topic. I was honestly just asking cause I had no clue about her and her previous work.

I guess trying to debunk the myth that FG chicks in Japan are desperate and dateless. There are so many FG girls married (happily) to J-men. I think the stats on the divorce rate are much lower than for FG Guys with J-girls actually. But as they are not as visible as the charisma guys so for the most part it goes un-noticed. I have about a dozen or so girlfriends who are married to J-guys. For the most part they are all happy and thriving. About half of the FG guys I know who married J-girls have been divorced. Not statistically relevant - just an anecdote.

Met plenty of FG chicks from western countries in Japan but never thought of them as a whole as desperate or dateless? Some (as Coligny pointed out) are land whales with bitchy tudes (usually from the cold reception they get from men here, FG or Japanese...and lack of Japaneeeze language skills as I've met plenty of unattractive FG women who are totally happy with all the attention they get from Japanese women who want foreign friends) but I've also met quite a few sweet western FG womenz here (you included GG) that are happily married in J-land (to Japanese or otherwise)

As far as western women and Japanese men marriages go, most of the nice FG womens I know from western countries aren't married to Japanese men. They dated some but most ended up with another FG from a western country. The few who are married to Japanese I would describe as total Japanophiles...they literally want to be Japanese -or- the husband is totally in love with [insert cuntry of wifey here] and is far from a stereotypical Japanese man. That being said, I'd agree with you that marriage formula works for them better than many of the FG men I know who are married to Japanese women...but once again, this is just personal experience.

Anyhow, I'm definitely not ignorant to what you're saying. 2012 Stats show: 23,000+ Japanese men married FG wives, 7,000+ Japanese lemurs married FG husbands. waaaay more FG wives than husbands an most of them being from China, Indonesia, etc. and looking for a better life. Despite the numbers, as you say, "they are not as visible as the [western] charisma guys so for the most part it goes un-noticed."

Most of mah friends back home are published writers...

One of them is a "nigger" (shadow writer) for these kind of books in order to pay for her culinary research trips (and the rent). When she's in a rush for one of the big name 'astroligical' books her input for the forecast of some astrological signs was literally tied to the number of dump my cat took the day before the writing...

These abominations sold quite well...making everybody's pocket a bit heavier...
