You really need to get out of your bunker more. There are whole worlds out there that you clearly know nothing about and yet you still have opinions about them all.

Translating his microwave manual into Latin?

It will come in handy when performing rituals to exorcise it from the splattered spirits of deceased mutant McNuggets.

I think he's brushing up on his Latin in hopes of becoming the next pope.

I always find it weird how people define themselves by things over which they had no choice, gender, nationality, sexual orientation.

GomiGirl wrote:chokonen888 wrote:Right on! But what on earth drove her to write a book like that?
She had started writing it years ago and she was in Saipan on a writing sabattical when the earthquake hit. So she shelved it for a while.
She has written a bunch of stuff about relationships etc from her first "Being a Broad" mags and then books. I think it then grew into an advice column for J-women called "Ask Caroline" in Japanese and then this one for J-men was the next one.
In the magazine she always had a column about finding love and relationships in Japan.

I think the stats on the divorce rate are much lower than for FG Guys with J-girls actually. But as they are not as visible as the charisma guys so for the most part it goes un-noticed. I have about a dozen or so girlfriends who are married to J-guys. For the most part they are all happy and thriving. About half of the FG guys I know who married J-girls have been divorced. Not statistically relevant - just an anecdote.

He's just awaiting Z-day. Too bad he's probably a terrible shot.
The book discusses the physicality of Japanese men at length, and though many Japanese men feel they could do better with a hairy chest, Pover’s book assures them that a lot of Western women are actually turned off by body hair and totally turned on by the firm, moist skin texture of the typical Japanese male.
And if your English conversational skills aren’t up to scratch, no worries. These days, Western women are more likely to be versatile Japanese speakers and, unless she happens to be your English teacher, the Western woman doesn’t really give a hoot what your TOEFL scores are.
“Rather, I think everyone’s looking for what we’ve always been looking for,” Pover said during a phone interview. “Qualities like sincerity and kindness and the ability to show affection and to say ‘I love you’ are always in favor with Western women. And I would guess for women everywhere.”
For Pover, expensive dinner dates followed by gifts of flowers are never the point of romantic relationships, but “when you have a cold and your husband or boyfriend brings you tea with lemon and ginger — now that’s romantic.”
snip..
As with her other works, “Love With a Western Woman” makes observations and draws conclusions almost exclusively from interviews, rather than turning to reference material.
“I like to base my writing on real interviews,” says Pover. “I like giving people a voice and that whole process, you know, of talking to people and writing about them.”

Look at it positively: the more none-Japanese women taking Japanese men out of circulation increases the number of Japanese women in the market for a nice hairy chest (possibly one withbmoobies bigger than their own).

I'm not against anyone going after anyone. I just find it hilarious she goes into "the physicality of Japanese men at length" when I think the only real reasons most Japanese men that want a "western woman" can't land one have more to do with "Qualities like sincerity and kindness and the ability to show affection and to say ‘I love you’" though I guess you can argue the lack of confidence of many is a result of (penis) size complex.

It was the description of their skin.
