free on demand internet TV?

Postby ketchupkatsu » Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:33 am

Saw an ad for http://www.gyao.jp/

Its supposed to be a free internet TV or something. It needs windows media player to view it :( Sadly I'm not running windows so I can't check it out.

Has anyone heard of this site or seen the ads? What's the catch to make it free?

Looks good.. Nice compression.. Might be a bunch of infomercials though.. Haven't surfed around much.

Seems merely to be commercials to me. No real content :(
Why do the Japanese always have to have a favorite saying?

Checked it out on a friends computer.

It had you look at an ad, and then asked for your postal code, email address, what field your job is related to.

It then allowed you to watch an episode.

Compressions were really good.
