commanderbond.net: 'Red Tattoo' Museum Launches Official Websites
The 007 The Man With the Red Tattoo Museum in Naoshima Japan has launched two new websites featuring art and images from this unique museum devoted to Raymond Benson's last original James Bond novel. The first is the museum's official website, which is currently only in Japanese. In conjunction with the official site is the 007 Location Promotion Committee, featuring general information about the museum and ongoing efforts to petition Eon into making a James Bond movie in Naoshima. A link in English takes you to a plot synopsis...Designed by Hidemi Inoue of Inoue Commercial Space Planning, The 007 The Man With the Red Tattoo Museum is located at 2310 Miyanoura, Naoshima...For more information, contact the International Affairs Division, Kagawa Prefectural Government, Tel: 087-832-3026, Fax 087-837-4289. Raymond Benson recently provided CBn with a exclusive report on the museum's opening day ceremonies with his own personal pictures from the event. CLICK HERE to read Raymond's report.
I could have sworn I posted the link to James McMahon's diary of Raymond Benson's research trip to Japan before but here it is again. Ian Fleming's "You Only Live Twice" had some accurate observations about Japan but sadly, Benson's book could be a post from the "newbie" reporter thread.

I used to live in Takamatsu and have been to Naoshima loads of times and place WOULD be a great location for a Bond film. It is full of little old ladies who could be Ninjas.

Asahi: Council seeks intelligence service modeled after British spy agency MI6
Japan needs a more effective intelligence agency modeled after Britain's Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) that would engage in activities beyond the diplomatic norm, a report by an advisory council said. The report said the entity would be under the control of the foreign minister and would specialize in collecting information on international affairs... It suggested that professionally trained officers be posted at embassies to conduct activities specializing in intelligence gathering. "In some cases, their activities would be out of the boundaries of ordinary diplomatic activities," the report said...The SIS, the employer of filmdom's James Bond, engages in espionage operations in foreign countries under the control of the British foreign secretary.

Japan Times: James Bond goes Japanese? Tokyo eyes MI6-style spy agency
The idea of a Japanese James Bond may sound hilarious, but serious discussions are under way in Japan on whether to create a secret intelligence service along the lines of Britain's MI6 to conduct overseas espionage...The issue of creating an international spy organization has never gotten broad support in Japan, largely due to the fact that Tokyo gets its intelligence information from the United States under the bilateral security agreement. In addition, the Japanese have a deep-rooted sense of wariness of intelligence agencies that stems from the country's bitter experience with its "special political police force" before World War II and an overall negative image of espionage, many observers have said...more...

1. It would never work unless they got some better language education.

2. They would have to cooperate with allied nations because I'm sorry, but a Japanese spy could never be confused with a round eye.
I will not abide ignorant intolerance just for the sake of getting along.
