Don Adams, Television's Maxwell Smart, Dies at 82

NEW YORK TIMES, Sept 26---Don Adams, who played Maxwell Smart in the 1960's sitcom "Get Smart," combining clipped, decisive diction with appalling, hilarious ineptitude, died on Sunday at a Los Angeles hospital. He was 82....
....he pursued many things, including a very successful voice-over career, speaking for the [Japanese] cartoon character Inspector Gadget. ...more...

Classic Nick - Inspector Gadget
"The series was a french/japanese co-production between DIC audio/visual paris and the Tokyo Movie Shinsha... The voices were recorded in Canada (Toronto, to be exact) but no other work was done there. The original script was written in France, and the animation was handled almost entirely in Japan... A number of famous artists and producers worked on this, including Shingo Araki (Ulysess 31, Rupan III) Tetsuo Katayama (Godmars, Space Adventure Cobra) and Shigeru Akagawa (art director on the new WB cartoon "Yu-Gi-Oh") and many others.
