DV Cam Price List: 5 Resources

Postby GuyJean » Sat Apr 27, 2002 10:02 am

I've compiled a DV Cam price list from 5 electronics shops in Japan:

http://www.messagefriends.com/cgi-bin/rcidxmsgb.cgi?pid=82-8064-82-82

Stores like Bic, Yodobashi, etc..

Why fight the crowds and loud, irritating jingles? (Bic oh Bic, Oh Bic Ca Me Ra!! Aaaaah! Give me a sledge hammer!)

Later,

GJ

try mail-order

Postby sukebekuro » Sat Apr 27, 2002 1:35 pm

if you're going to shop for one of these things (or any other consumer electronics item), I would recommend you look into mail order as well. A great site to check out is:

http://www.kakaku.com/

For example, just taking a random camera, the Sony DCR-PC120, and comparing Yodobashi's price with what comes up at Kakaku, you can get it for 10,000 yen cheaper at several of the mail-order places listed on Kakaku. Shipping is usually between 1000 - 2000 yen. Delivery is usually next-day, and most places accept COD. I bought my Olympus 3030 digital camera this way last year, saved about $75.

Also, you can read user reviews and avg. ratings for things like price, image quality, design, expandability, etc. The site does require some Japanese knowledge, but even a beginner like me can navigate without too much trouble (you could also use the help of an online translator/hints site like http://www.jisyo.org/ddd).
