[/floatr]An accidental glance up at the top shelf of a local newsagent revealed that Bizarre Magazine has gone "undercover in Japan" for a "Kinky Japan" summer edition. I was too concerned for my reputation to invest in any further research but the website says the features include "Masuimi Max! Tokyo Sex Club Guide! Manga Smut Special! and The World's Weirdest Porn Mag!"Masuimi Max turns out to be an American of Korean and German descent. According to her Wikipedia entry:
She had two tattoos of her name written in Japanese, but she had both of them removed. When translated, these tattoos actually said "Masumi". As explained by Masuimi herself "they were tattooed on my arms the way they are pronounced, not the way it is spelled in English. Some of you may already know, Hiragana and Katakana represents sounds, not letters like the English alphabet. My name is spelled Masuimi, but the first 'i' is silent. Thus, the pronunciation of my name was exactly how it was tattooed on my arms."
I appreciate that some might feel that the title of this thread promised more than the post delivered.
