viewing japanese without IME software

Postby akatsuka » Wed Dec 20, 2006 8:40 am

I have IME software on my computer at home, so I can view Japanese and type Japanese whenever I want. However, I dont have it at work, and I dont have the CD needed in order to install the Windows software.

It's really frustrating to get an email in Japanese only to be not able to read it until you get home. I used to know of a website where you can read japanese without the IME software. It used to convert all the characters into pictures and then you could still read the japanese text. However, since updating my computer I've stopped using it, and cant remember where it was or what it was called. Anyone got any ideas?

I dont need to be able to type Japanese, just read it without the software installed...

help?!
To ponder and wonder
About what lies yonder
To think of times so much fonder

What version of Windows are you using?
2K and XP have the Japanese support included. You need to go to
Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Languages. In the Supplemental langauge support box enable Install files for east Asian languages.
