I could never understand why Colombo was such a popular tv show here in Japan. Hell, I'm sure you can find one of his movies on most days of the week, even now. I sure hope people weren't trying to master English that way, or maybe that explains why so many people can't speak properly!

Colombo still lives on in Japan through Masakazu Tamura's Ninzaburo Furuhata, a blatant rip-off, but done better.
