The End of Shinsuke Shimada?

Postby Mulboyne » Tue Aug 23, 2011 8:47 pm

[floatr]Image[/floatr]Shinsuke Shimada, a leading light in the entertainment world has called an urgent press conference for 10pm Japan time. He is allegedly going to be accompanied by the president of Yoshimoto Kogyo. Rumours are rife but many seem to believe Shimada will be announcing his retirement from the business. One journalist has already tweeted (Japanese) that Shimada has again been guilty of bad behaviour. The entertainer once assaulted a female staffer and had to step down from the business for a period to atone. This time, the journalist speculates, there may be no way back for Shimada and he even suggests the police have become involved.

I thought that having connections to gangsters was generally just accepted practice in the entertainment world. What I don't get is why anyone was looking at his phone records unless it was the other way around and while investigating a gangster they found Shinsuke on his speed dial.

I don't watch TV... we only have japanese basic OTA channels, installing a C band dish... while totally feasible on the roof would (maybe) require running kilometers of wiring just to reach the kitchen, I don't even know if we can piggy back on the current UHF/VHF wiring like for BS/CS... So I basically gave up... I just see this inbred when me b... watch TV sumwhere... and it trigger death wishes previously unseen... how could people watch this retard and not kick their TV into a puddle of plastic bits ?

Wonder who he pissed off.
Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

Shimada's suspicious contact was former boxing world champion Jiro Watanabe. Watanabe has had a few brushes with the law as that wiki link details. He's currently appealing a conviction for extortion.

A so-called period of atonement for beating a woman was never enough. I'm surprised he managed to get away with that. It didn't reflect well on J-Media / Japan.

Will his departure make J-tv worth watching? It will probably just mean more Sanma.

Shit.

I always thought he we entertaining, but time after time his off-screen behavior has shown what kind of perso he really is. From his interview it sounds like he had the yakuza "take care" of someone causing him trouble... I wonder if that's what it sounds like.

Just curious but how bad did he beat the women?

One of my childhood friends who married a psychotic bitch was arrested for "assault" when all he was doing was trying to avoid being kicked in the nuts by the crazed woman.

Don't know how bad, but apparently he assaulted her because she failed to give him a proper greeting as she walked past him at work.

So now that public enemy no. 1 Shinsuke has been take down, can we go after all the politicians, cops and businesses with connections to the Yaks?

Probably NOT! But who cares when you have Skyperfect! Today this is the best news since hearing Obama's stimulus package was a joke!

LOL Typical power tripping komakai as fuck unreasonable J-tard behavior. I still wonder what the assault was though...I've seen some company owners here kick and punch their subordinates right in front of me just over a simple misunderstanding. If she showed up a minute late, would he rape her?

You just reminded me of an incident I posted about a few years ago. An ex-fuck buddy got the shit kicked out of her by her boss.

Jake Adelstein has more info, as you'd expect:

http://www.japansubculture.com/2011/08/news-flash-japanese-tv-star-shimada-shinsuke-%E5%B3%B6%E7%94%B0%E7%B4%B3%E5%8A%A9-to-announce-retirement-at-10pm-press-conference-allegedly-his-ties-to-the-yamaguchi-gumi-have-surfaced/

I'm surprised none of the J-speakers here hadn't mentioned the fact that Goto referred to Shimada as a chimpira, or that Shimada had refered to Goto as simply "Goto," without the requisite honorific. That counts as Big News here.

Well, I taught my Shinsuke associated company tonight and the posters had been removed and there had been a very good politburo attempt to expunge him from their corporate history.

I do feel a lot of sympathy however, as I seem to recall few years ago when Alexander Keith's Beer hired what turned out to be a child pornographer as their spokeman.

Starting this October, Adelstein stated, the Tokyo Organized Crime Exclusionary Ordinance goes into effect, making "all transactions with yakuza a crime".

Pretty glad that I turned the TV on this morning.

Each and every channel were discussing this crucially important topic at length, with all kinds of illuminating comments and detailed analysis.
