Video Encoding?

Postby yellowlightman » Thu Mar 13, 2003 3:40 pm

I know there's a few people on this board who do video stuff, so I'm curious as to how you guys encode your video for web sites? I do all my editing on my computer, but so far Quicktime hasn't produced very good results (even the best options tend to make the vide very grainy or blocky) and I haven't been able to find any other good programs for Mac.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Cleaner 5 or 6 I think is best. I use 5, but I've heard 6 is better:

That's the software, but depending on which codec you're using, you probably have to buy THAT codec FOR Cleaner..

Then there are the settings.. It's too much to really go into. I recommend trial and error and research on the web.. Different videos require different settings.

Also, TokyoDV has a DV Forum:

http://www.fusionarena.com/community/

They're mostly PC people but usually very helpful.

Gambatte!

Awesome, thanks for the link.

I've been giving trial and error a shot too, but it gets frustrating because it takes so long to encode soemthing only to find out its too grainy or too large or whatever. :?

Also, GJ, the first file for "Tohoku: Hitchhiking Japan" in the Culture section of TokyoDV doesn't seem to work.
