I'm not trying to be a smartass here but the average Jman doesn't understand or aware of terms such as 'happy, healthy relationships' and the few how do don't really need the book.

There is also just the novelty factor of fucking/dating a gaijin too. It works both ways but most of the guys are just too shy to make it happen. In my dating days I found this to be very true. I dated quite a few J-guys but most of them really didn't know how to make the first move.
Fortunately I was never that shy.![]()

Oh how life changes.

Yep yep...or you get the overly confident J-guys that expect to be able to manhandle you from first glance (and expect you to like it)

Guys - you are not the target audience. I was wondering if Take was still with us.
This was a public service announcement.

Touche...though I would argue the lack of social skills is still a bigger issue here than most places.

What is she famous for?

She was (still is?) the editor of Being A Broad, a life/work-in-Japan guide aimed at women. She was in charge of it when I met her 15 years ago, and I have no idea how long she'd been in Japan by that point.

So does hubby take those pictures of you or does someone else do it?

She now spends half of the year in Japan and the other half in the UK. She speaks, raises money and awareness for Tsunami affected communities.
Her next project is to bring families who can't afford to travel from the area down to Tokyo for a homestay and trip to Disneyland.
She has also run projects to get fishing suits so that women can get back to work. It is Kombu harvesting season now and this is the first season since the tsunami so there might actually be some new income flowing into the region.

She really does sound like an amazing woman. From the info on her site I'd guess she's a bit overextended, but it seems that she thrives on that sort of lifestyle. If she spends time in Tohoku perhaps our paths will cross one day. I'll keep the name in mind.
