How old is Dave Spector? NYT says he refused to divulge age.

But NYT reporterin Tokyo Martin Fackler reports that he does not know how old Dave Spector is, writing: ''Now in his 30th year on Japanese television, Mr. Spector has a well-established public persona that is part serious news commentator and part amiable comedian, all powered by a boyish enthusiasm that makes him appear younger than his 50-plus years. (He refuses to disclose his exact age.)''

But everyone knows how old Dave is, don't they? It's been reported for years. Why is the NYT hiding this FACT? Lazy reporting or protecting Dave from age discrimination in Japanese TV boardrooms?

In fact, as has been reported elsewhere, Dave is _________ year old. [Fill in the blank]

Do the math: if ''his first glimpse of Japan itself came during his sophomore year in high school when he attended the 1970 Osaka World's Fair ....'' then how old would that make him today, Mr Martin Fackler of the fact checking New York Times?

TRUE: he does have a baby face and looks 49 years old! Surgery?
