Police arrested Nobuhiko Takahashi, 42, on January 28 on suspicion of beating his 71-year-old aunt, Chiyoko Shiga, to death with a golf club on October 15 in the northern Japanese village of Hirata.
"He confessed to the murder three-to-four days after the arrest.... As our investigation proceeded into the motive, he later said 'I thought I would be able to undertake a funeral if I killed auntie'...

Oh yeah...I guess killing his aunt was pretty weird, too.
