From the Audio Archive WWII News 1945-08-16 Richard Harkness

Postby Steve Bildermann » Tue May 18, 2004 10:18 am

This is a contemporary amateur home recording of a live WWII-era radio news broadcast (see note below), originally aired on August 16th, 1945. Commentator Richard Harkness voices his suspicions of the motivation behind Japan's surrender. The original recording is overmodulated, and there is some fading towards the end of the program. The disk label reads "News Richard Harkness Aug. 16, 1945 11:15 PM".
