Well I might be different, and thanks for sharing the link because it's pertinent. But, to the BBC I say bullshit, that had all the objectivity of an NPR report. Done in the typical BBC style "THE WORLD IS SOON GOING TO ENNNDD (last syllable pitched up)

They were trying to push a point home and bending facts to suit there aims. At the end of the broadcast I am less sure then when we started.

I thought the video was very well done about young Japanese sexual attitudes. The point was that unsafe practices are making Japan's STD infection rate increase, which is unusual among developed countries. I was also surprised that a government rep in Tokyo was worried about a conservative backlash if they spoke too openly about sex and contraception in school. Who would fuel it? In the US it's reactionary Christians, but Japan?

I also thought it was interesting that only 1/3 of Japanese 17year olds have had sex, as compared with over half in the United States.

I don't know where you got your statistics for J-17 year olds but I hardly doubt that is accurate and reflects the reality.. It certainly should be higher than that.. in fact in the US I'd say it is quite a bit higher as well..

I mean unless they are video taping with satellites in the sky.. because no "Anketo" is going to give even close to reality results...

Yeah, I was a soc major and getting real knowledge like that is hard but perhaps not impossible. They have to be more clever than just asking directly on a questionnaire. Creating a good questionnaire that doesn't skew is quite tricky. It's surprising how many companies base big decisions on stupid questionnaries.
