Chichibu Yomatsuri, the best night violence you'll find

This is one hell of a wild festival and I've fought the crowds in the cold for free sake several times. Fireworks, free sake, semi-mock battles between float crews....Wo0T!:thumbs:

Chichibu Yomatsuri Night Festival, one of Japan's three biggest festivals featuring festival floats, will run Dec. 1-6 in the city of Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. Each float weighs between 12 and 20 tons and is pulled by several hundred people. A: It's a longish train ride, 1.5 hours to Northwest Saitama.
B: Anybody who wants to take pictures will need long underwear, nerves of steel, 2-dan black belt, and one meter ladder.
(I'm too old to partake in late nght street brawls for more than six hours at temps below 0C.)
