bakku-shan?

This is claimed to mean people who only look good from the back. I've never heard this expression before but a norwegian newspaper claims this is the word.

I can see where the "bakku" (English - back) comes from, but the "shan"?

What word would one use?

I'm guessing it's bakku-chan or a variation of -chan. It's a fairly standard nickname usage to add a diminutive, like the old slang term "ashi-kun" (Mr. Legs) is the guy who you call when you need someone to drive you places.

I thought so at first - but then - no. I've never heard "shan" being used for "chan" - and it doesn't really convey the meaning then does it?

I suspect they just mis-heard "chan" and wrote it down as "shan." I do that sort of thing all the time, I have tinnitus that masks high frequency sounds so "ch" sounds almost identical to "sh."

But then, I don't know any Norwegian, so for all I know, there's no such morpheme as "sh" in Norwegian and they always write it as "ch."
