Slimline Sumo in the Spotlight

New era for sumo
Telegraph: Survival of the fattest
I wonder whatever happened to Shohei Kitade? When we met in Tokyo a decade and more ago, he was still a growing boy of 19...fretting over what adopted name he might be given by his stable-master...Little brother Miko, your typical 11-year-old smart Alec, chirruped: "How about Chichigahari [Big Tits]." That, to foreign eyes at least, is the farcical thing about sumo wrestling. How can you describe the sight of two human five-tiered blancmanges engaged in a survival of the fattest as 'sport?' Cue entry of Koto-oshu, a Bulgarian known to his family as Kaloyan Mahlyanov, a 6ft 8in athlete who is more Arnold Schwarzenegger than Mr Blobby and dubbed the 'Beckham of sumo' by his adoring female following in Japan...more...

Sorry Mr. Bulgarian, you just do not belong in sumo, you have a waistline.

Did you notice that the writer has a few of his facts a bit off track?
"....
For Koto-oshu, however, the rewards can be fabulous. Hawaiian Saleva Atisanoe, who fought under the ring-name of Konishiki and became the first alien to reach yokozuna (supreme champion) status until he was forced to retire in 1997 ...."

Sally never made Yokozuna so he obviously was not the first alien and he was not forced to retire. Actually, he continued for a few tournaments ignoring calls for him to retire.
