I don't understand why he wouldn't stand for the national anthem? What's that got to do with Allah?

The Stars and Stripes is an idol in the "form of anything that is in heaven above" aka the Stars and "or that is on the earth beneath" are the 13 original States represented by the Stripes.

Sure, I realize it's idolatry under Christianity, but do the 10 Commandments apply to Muslims?
And, if this is the case, why do all the U.S. Christian fundamentalists make up so much of the hoopla, flag-waving population over there?
Strikes me as more religious hypocrisy.

Remeber when the Taliban blew up those ancient statues of Buddha a few years ago?

Muslims are hardcore about no idolatry. Muhammad's (Peace be upon him) face cannot be represented and some of the more extreme Muslims don't even allow photos of anyone. Of couse you have Ismailis on the other hand who basically worship the Agha Khan.

In the end, it's all hypocritical BS.

I don't mind what anyone is gullible enough to believe in if it gets them through the night, or makes them happy, but I hate it when they stuff their beliefs down other peoples' throats like Amway salesmen.

Yep. The old testament is considered the foundation of the Big Three in the Middle East. Just as the Christians think JC gave them god's "real" message in his Faith 2.0 upgrade, Muslims think the "real" word is in Muhammad's 3.0 version (and that JC, rather than being an official company spokesman, was just another vendor).

And, if this is the case, why do all the U.S. Christian fundamentalists make up so much of the hoopla, flag-waving population over there?
Strikes me as more religious hypocrisy.

Faith is the opposite of logic, after all.

Wow! I knew the Big Three were all sons of Abraham, but I didn't know Allahology followed through the complete myth. Thanks for the lesson. Sadly, knowing how interrelated the myths are, it makes all the troubles in that part of the world even more miserable.

I recall reading somewhere that while the Muslims believe they have religion 3.0, their economies by-and-large are version 1.0, and that pisses them off...

Heh. While it's the 1.0 Jooos (British uni speak) that have the only 3.0 economy in the ME.
