Plus, do you have any idea what Sentoryu is doing these days, CS? I'd be interested in reading about his experiences in Japan if he ever decided to write a book.

He's been fighting in PRIDE for the last couple of years now. He just got K.O.'d on Sunday against an American fighter more than 15cm taller.

I bought a copy of the dvd "sumo: east and west" and he was interviewed.
In it, he says on account of his dark skin, the Japanese fans used to call him a monkey.
Its a great documentary if you come across it.

No, he has trimmed down quite a bit. I used to see him around the Sanno with Akebono's crowd wearing western dress, and he was still sumo big! But, the last time I ran into him in Roppongi, he was more of a weight lifter, still big, but the sumo look had disappeared.
