Sentoryu came to visit at work today

He's been fighting in PRIDE for the last couple of years now. He just got K.O.'d on Sunday against an American fighter more than 15cm taller. 8O

I bought a copy of the dvd "sumo: east and west" and he was interviewed.
In it, he says on account of his dark skin, the Japanese fans used to call him a monkey.
Its a great documentary if you come across it.

He looks like he has trimmed down from when I saw him last - or perhaps it is just that he looks so different when not wearing kimono.

No, he has trimmed down quite a bit. I used to see him around the Sanno with Akebono's crowd wearing western dress, and he was still sumo big! But, the last time I ran into him in Roppongi, he was more of a weight lifter, still big, but the sumo look had disappeared.
