Don't go having a heart attack, you've got more games to watch yet!

Congrats Tsuru, I hope the team kicks ass from here on too.

Well played match by the Dutch. They persevered. First victory by the Dutch over Brazil since 1974, and a grand one at that.

Thanks dude! I must admit though that when the Netherlands play well, we typically end up losing to lesser opponents later on. I am still upset at the team for the defeat against Russia in the European Championships of two years ago. And who are we facing next, Uruguay or Ghana. I got a bad feeling.:(

Despite your anxiety I think the Netherlands have a good chance of going to the final match whether it faces Uruguay or Ghana. Let's see what happens. Should be interesting!

I can not believe that Ghana missed that PK in the last MINUTE of stoppage time in the second half of overtime. Going to PK's. High drama!

Can't wait to see how the Argentine/Germany and Paraguay/Spain matches turn out.

It's going to be a fun semi-final. :bounce:

Ghana was cheated out of a place in the semis. I hope we fucking bury Suarez for what he did.

Then again he plays for Ajax so I can't really say I'm surprised of his unsportsmanlike behavior.

Well Suarez got booted off the red card so he won't be playing...Uruguay is pretty beat up after that match which only tenderizes them for the killing by the Dutch in the next match.

Germany is now at it beating Argentina... Spain will kick Paraguay out tonight, and the final will likely be Holland - Germany.

Hehehe.

I don't think there's a deeper rivalry among major football nations. For old time's sake:

I'm happy the midget pimp is going home but still think Argentina has the best front line in the game.
Spain is my black horse from the beginning and I think they can line up a better balanced team against Germany.

Perhaps but they couldn't even eke out one goal today. Pathetic, really. I don't think I remember Argentina ever losing 4-0. Embarrassing.

Colombia slaughtered them 5-0 just before the 1994 World Cup...which led to Colombian gangsters betting more on their team than they really should have, and explains why they gunned down Pablo Escobar for the own goal that caused Colombia to lose to the lowly U.S. team and saw them whimper out at the group stage. Thrashing Argentina has implications...
Nonetheless (and totally unrelated to topic but forgive me because I am hungover), as an Aussie, I now feel a lot more comfortable having seen Ze Germans blitzkrieg against England and Argentina and think that maybe we aren't such a bad team after all.

Thanks for the heads up about Columbia...I do remember the bit where Andres Escobar got killed for the own goal though. Miroslav Klose is now the second all time World Cup goal scorer with 14 goals....only one behind Ronaldo of Brazil. That sh*t has got to count for something. Klose and Podolski are like the Batman & Robin of the World Cup tournament. Today Argentina was the Joker...or is that the Joke?

Wrong Escobar. Pablo would be more likely to have ordered such a hit.

Sorry about the Escobars....shit, I'm already blotto, so you've gotta forgive me. I was fuckin' rapt to be able to remember details from 1994 (considering I can't remember what I ate for breakfast today).

Argentina national team coach Diego Maradona had an altercation with German fans after the end of the match that marked the elimination of said team from the 2010 South Africa World Cup.

Apparently upset over post game celebrations by fans located behind the Argentinean bench, Maradona approached and scolded them, until Dalma, one of his daughters, entered the field and contained him.

In his defence, they were Germans.
