Japan's boxing authority considers punishment for Kameda

Japan's boxing commission is considering punishment for Daiki Kameda, who violated regulations during his defeat to champion Daisuke Naito in Thursday's WBC flyweight match.

Kameda repeatedly grabbed Naito in Thursday's bout, lifting the champion up and throwing him to the canvas in a scene that resembled a wrestling match.

The Japan Boxing Commission is considering revoking the boxing licenses of both Daiki and his father and trainer Shiro Kameda.

Kameda was deducted three points during the bout, which Naito won on a unanimous decision to retain his title.

They ought to ban the whole family from the sport. They really are a bunch of scum bags.

You're probably thinking of his more famous older brother Koki. However, the whole family needs to be fucking smacked around. They should make the three brothers and the father fight Liddell, Fedor, Crocop, and Couture in a tag team no holds barred fight.

The main problem is the father. He's a real piece of shit. During this fight he was filmed telling Daiki to go after Naito's eyes more and punch him in the balls.

It's funny how the JBC didn't get mad until one of them fought dirty against another Japanese fighter. This is the most extreme case, but I've seen Koki headbutt, hit a man when he's down, and hit after the bell plenty of times against foreign fighters without even a warning.

I am just an amateur arm-chair fan of boxing, mma, and K-1, but I wonder if that peek-a-boo style of Daiki's is effective?

The last thing I would want to do is put my head closer to another boxer.

With fighters like Naito, Takefumi Sakata, Nobuo Nashiro, and Hozumi Hasegawa, it's amazing that anyone pays any attention to the 3 Stooges. In fact, I think a Naito-Sakata match up would be far more exciting than the Kamedas fighting anyone.

Good post on the flic, it will probably be off Youtube before you know it. Judging by that round which is all I saw, Naito obviously pointed in on punches, but Kamada had the most points for take downs, reverses and riding time. Looks like he's getting ready for K-1 where his Ya-san father can probably run him up as a headliner! As you say, the whole family is a piece of shit and a black mark on boxing in every sense of the word!

Disgraced Japanese boxer Daiki Kameda was banned for a year on Monday after his violent outburst during a world title fight last week.

His father and trainer Shiro also had his license as a ringside trainer suspended for abusing the referee during his son's unsuccessful bid for the WBC flyweight title.

... Shiro Kameda, who was already walking a tightrope with Japanese boxing officials over past misdemeanours, was banned indefinitely from working in his fighters' corners during bouts.

The head of Kameda's Kyoei gym, meanwhile, was stripped of his owner's license for three months after an emergency meeting of the Japan Boxing Commission's (JBC) ethics panel.

Serves him right. I always hated those arrogant fuck brothers' attitudes and the total disrespect to boxing. I actually sat through the entire bout Thursday night and I swear Kameda's hairdo did not move a bit. It must had been from all the hairspray and gel.

Lightweight fights are always so boring to watch as they never knock each other out. It is more of an endurance run than anything. There are just no more great heavy weight fights around anymore.

I think what got to me the most about this, besides the two chinpira's with a stone Yak father, was the press handling this as a Japanese problem, with hints that he was only 18 years old and he "did apologize" and where there were inuendos that the punishment was a "bit too strict", the alternate gerneral view was that he would learn from this and because he was young, come back as a fine up-standing young man in the Japan Boxing world.

Just who are they shitting here? Was this not a World Title Bout? Is not the boxing of Japan from the referees, judges and questionable tactics, match decisions, already been under serious question in world boxing?

Not a person in the media has mentioned this problem as it applies to boxing as a whole. Yet, let a bad call go against a J-soccer team, or any other J-sports team, in a world match (even a friendly) and there are immediate calls on the actions of the refs and what it means to the sport.

I have not seen the video anywhere yet, but if they do in fact have Kameda's old man on tape egging him on to thumbing, or any other dirty fighting, as has been alleged, they should have handed him a lifetime ban and said "Take that Mother and don't call me, I'll call you".

Compare his display at this press conference, with his yakuza performance immediately after the questionable decision awarded to his other son for his first title fight.

This crew is a cancer to boxing that needs to be cut out.

Asashoryu is what(who) came to my mind, too, as I watched him failing to apologize or say anything at all for that matter.

As you said, maybe he's trying to play the utsu card here, trying to gather sympathy rather than ire. It would be really sad if they end up turning this around to their advantage.

The Kameda gym said Wednesday it will appeal Daiki Kameda's points defeat to WBA flyweight champion Denkaosen Kaowichit of Thailand and plans to ask the WBA for a rematch.

American judge Levi Martinez and Silvestre Abainza of the Philippines ruled Tuesday's bout in Osaka 115-113 in favor of Denkaosen while American Sergio Caiz called the bout a 114-114 draw.

"We can't accept this result," Kameda gym chief Noriyuki Igarashi told a news conference. "(Daiki) led the match by three points overall. We are going to protest in writing and send video footage immediately."

Kind of funny how they didn't protest the other Kameda's win over Landaeta. In fact, Landaeta didn't even protest it.
