man these Japanese announcers are piss poor. They don't explain what is going on, they keep talking about inane topics like how much this player is sweating. They don't know the players names and only keep repeating the few players they do know.

Iraira wrote:I kinda dig the horns. I start imagining that swarms of giant hornets are buzzing around the stadium waiting to pick off limbs from the losing team.
canman wrote:I just read that Fifa, is now thinking of banning the horns at games, due to many complaints from viewers. I really don't like them, but put the commentator in a booth or something so that we can hear what is being said. I've had a few people say just hit the mute button, but can you tell me any other sporting event where you have to mute the sound because it is so annoying, other than the broadcast team for the Chicago White Sox!:winkb:

canman wrote:Please read my message again, Netherlander. I congratulated sky perfectv for offering the English commentary for the games. I didn't say it was my god given right to have it. Secondly, if you enjoy listening to two hacks who don't know what hey are talking about then it is your right, but the British announcers that are calling the games are nothing but professional. Whereas the Japanese announcers couldn't stop talking about Beckham, even though he wan't even playing.
Take, just f$ck off, tonight you will be crying when your chrysanthemum boys get their asses handed to them by Cameroon. Enjoy your crappy commentary as they mispronounce, or don't even know the Cameroon players names.

Any bets on tonight's Cameroon game?

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Mulboyne again.

How many of you will be watching the Japan-Cameroon game tonight specifically to get a kick out of watching Japan being humiliated?

Kuang_Grade wrote:In watching the US vs England game, I was dreading the commentary since it was going to be shown on US broadcast TV and thus I suspected the commentary would follow the standard US style of 'family problems/tragedy makes sports more heroic" where they comment about how someone is really doing well considering that the wife of his second cousin's was in an accident or has/had cancer or other health problem last year...while ignoring these sort of things are statistically common place within any group of ten people or larger and the rest of society doesn't break down when these sort of things happen to non sports professionals...but it turned out they ESPN had some Brits doing the commentary and they kept the more mawkish sentiments to a minimum.
And I find the horns a bit much after a while too.
