Backup UPS

Postby Coligny » Tue Oct 04, 2011 2:57 pm

These day Eiden (at least in Aichi) got some 720W/1200VA UPS from Cyber Power, USB serial link, protection anti surtension phone and TV antenna. 25000 yens. The catch... they are native driverless MacOSX. When plugged by usb on my IMac the energy saver control panel show a new UPS tab similar to the one available to Macbooks/ MacBook air/ powerbooks...

They also support Windows and linux .dab and .rpm in 32 and 64 bit (command line and initscript).

(preparing for a hard winter without the Hamaoka powerplant...)
(and hoping they mothball forever this piece of crap...)
(it's not a matter of liking nukular or not... it's a matter of a plant directly build on a fault line, there should not even be a fisherman shack there)
