That keyboard logging "service" gives me the willies in terms of security.
All I can imagine is all the bad things that could happen if Whatpulse went to the Dark Side and started collecting information from the keystrokes (passwords, credit card info, etc.).

The WhatPulse client is provided to you as it is. We are NOT responsible for any damage this application might do to your computer enviroment. Neither the WhatPulse client nor the server logs keystrokes. The client checks each keystroke as it is entered to ensure that it is a valid key, but the key itself is not stored. Only the aggregate number of valid keys entered is stored on the WhatPulse server.

My question is why does it have to be stored on the server?

Why can't it be stored locally.

That product is a good idea. But a better idea would be to have a usb junction that could count the clicks and then shut your mouse down after a certain number of clicks or time.

Haha, it's stored on the server so they can do all their weird sorts of statistics with it. I think they didn't offer a client only version because that way you could perform your own statistics on it, and that is a "feature" only for paying clients.

Just trying to make money, I guess.

A panel of experts in Japan says more than 4.2 million people in the country are addicted to the internet...addiction is up 50 percent from the last survey 6 years ago.
Addiction is suspected when people neglect their work or household chores as a result of spending too much time online.
