Help wth MP3 player

Postby canman » Wed May 24, 2006 9:11 pm

Now before I posted this question I did try to find out the answer on the net, and found nothing nada. So I'm asking for help here. I have a Creative Zen Neeon MP3 player, and I really like listening to Podcasts like On the Media from NPR. The problem I have and can't find an answer to is whenever I play the file, and stop it before I get to the end, when I turn the player on it starts from the beginning again. And since it doesn't have any kind of a fast forward mechanism, I have to listen to the whole thing again.
Creative has not been helpful and their site sucks in my opinion, that being said, is the only option I have to cut the files into small bites and then load them, or am I am I missing something that is really easy to fix? Please advise, in return you will receive my most humble gratitude, and a warm bed if you ever visit my fair city.

Creative Zen players do not support fast forward or reverse on VBR encoded MP3s. Here's my wild stupid guess.....Try to find an old style regular MP3 made several years ago and load that into your Neeon player. Then see if that plain-jane, non-VBR MP3 will fast forward or pause or restart at the last point of listening the way you want. If VBR encoding is the problem, use the old MP3 encoding scheme.
