The country that gave the world space invaders, Pacman and PlayStation has developed a different kind of video game: one that helps people fight cancer. In Protect Life gamers are "armed" only with their immune system and blast away at cancerous cells. The game will boost survival rates for cancer patients by improving their morale and preventing a sense of hopelessness in the face of cancer, researchers hope...Protect Life has been in development for three years and has been used for 12 months already at the Nikko Kinen hospital in Muroran in northern Japan. The Sapporo Digital computer school, which created the software with the hospital, is now finalising the game for sale in Japan and possibly overseas.
