PS3 Security T10 Driver

Postby IparryU » Mon Aug 01, 2011 9:36 pm

Ok, I need to open my PS3, the flat heads I have wont fit in the Security Torx screw that is on the case under the rubber foot.

I have read in some places that it is a Security (TR) T10 driver head that I need, but some of the security pins have different gaugues and may be too big for the hole (ya.... she always says that...) in the screw.

Does (has) any one opened a PS3 PHAT with this bit? Does anyone here know where I can go get that bit... store specific.

I have one week until I go on vacation and this is my last home project before I am in Nagano... Want this done so I can play SSF4:AE when I return... itching really bad now.

I opened up my phat PS3...
I just jammed a small flat head driver in there and opened it up.

I've actually had good luck in the past at 100 yen shops finding weird screwdrivers for this kind of thing.

Thanks all... hopefully I will get this done by the end of the week. I need to check my NAND chip cause my A/V stopped working. No the manual reset dont work... tried various techniques using that from various articles online.

most likely that the chip is loos or some solder joints are fugged up...

basically, my kids started shoving DVDs in the PS3, dropping it, and wify throwing it. but I believe I can still fix it...

If ever youre in Osaka: I remember getting my set of drivers out at an electronic component shop in Den Den, theres one on the main street near the yoshinoya on the south end, and then theres one in the back alley kinda behind the sony building where all the cool kids go. If the one on the main street dont have it the back alley one definitely will
