- AM3 announced they will release the Smart Media Adapter for GameBoy Advance in Japan on November 20, for 3200 yen. The adapter allows multimedia contents to store on Smart Media Cards, up to 5 compressed movies can be stored on a 32MB card, each with a 24 minutes play length. The price of each Smart Media Card is 2380 yen.
- AM3 is planning to convert the anime series Great Detective Conan to GameBoy Advance format, which can be played with the Smart Media Adapter. The episodes can be downloaded through game terminals in convenient stores and game shops for 200 - 300 yen each.
I think this is a pretty cool idea, and more likely to catch on quicker than the "e-manga" discussed her a while back. No word on whether or not you'll be able to take the purchased videos and upload them to a computer through a media reader.
