The orange box review and MOH:AB reviews were both great and just about perfect.

Although, I have actually enjoyed replaying the middle 3 or 4 levels of MOH, the rest was crap, and all of the stuff about how the AI seems to amazingly only target the player is spot on.

as for Crysis: I'm still using a AMD64 3500+ with 7600GT & 2GBmem and it worked okay - but when i tried to crank up the quality the FPS really suffered...
i'm thinking of ordering a mid-level Core/Quad-2Duo and 8800GT, alternatively I might wait for the 8900-series and some more DX10 games to appear...

aside from the eye-candy the main thing about this game is supposed to be this suit and the enhanced powers it gives you - but the way you have to cycle through them is complete bollox - tap number 4 once for speed, twice for strength, three times....
it gets monotonous and its quite glitchy at this point (in terms of recognising how many times youve pressed or have at all) hopefully theyll sort it out for the final version...

Is it even worth downloading the demo in your opinion? I still remember all the noise about Far Cry when it first came out, and yeah it was pretty and all, but the game itself was kind of boring...

Werd. I have been using uTorrent as well so I may use that as my fix.

It is probably the right time to upgrade my P4 3.2GHz @ 3.7GHz / GeForce 6800 desktop but the overhaul cost is too much considering gaming is not my main thing. Though based on some research, I am leaning towards the system you mentioned.. Core2Duo E6750 / GeForce 8800GT.. by the way are probably the best CPU and GPU you can currently buy for the money.

it'll probably take 2-4hours to download (which is nothing if you let it do its thing overnight or while youre out of the house/apt)
but then you'll only play it for 30-60mins and then uninstall it
worth a look I guess...as long as you have a decent+recent rig to showcase it's eye-candy
the 2.5 hours I spent anticipating its download couldve been better spent popping out to buy a copy of the orange box or playing a few rounds of BF2...

I am leaning towards the system you mentioned.. Core2Duo E6750 / GeForce 8800GT.. by the way are probably the best CPU and GPU you can currently buy for the money.

you could keep yours as it's socket 775 too, but then you wont get the advantage of the jump to 1333mhz bus
one with intergrated wifi (N) would be nice too - although most of em seem to be (G) for the moment

anyone own a NZXT case? (I'm not big on case windows to show of LEDs, but they seem to offer a decent product range)

I've got 4.0Ghz pentium duo with 4gb (3 and a bit in 32bit windows) dual channel 533 ram and a ATI x1600 256mb ddr ram, so not top of the line, but decent enough.

Already own orange box, and Crysis doesn't sound too worthwhile... Never really been much for just eye candy, more interested in actually enjoyable gameplay.

Besides, I need to free up some drive space for COD4

I personally recommend ASUS as that is what I am currently using. Great OC capablities and very stable.

I went with complete acrylic case and frickin love it. The only problem is that you have to be careful not to scratch it and wear gloves every time you want to move it around or open the case. Other than that, it is really aesthetically pleasing!

For me, that took a about a week, so borrowing a wii is a good plan if you can do it....there are some definitely some fun features on the wii, but not much I would consider deep and involving gameplay, unless you opt to kick it old school and download some virtual console games...and your nostalgia won't last long when you realized those games you fondly remember from your misspent youth are likely not as kickass as you remember them.
