Pocket PC is the way forward. Great games.. emulators, office, media players, wlan, bluetooth etc. You can get a decent ipaq for under 30000 yen these days.

The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak.

I think Nintendo is stronger in the portable market but...
Japanese tend to like Sony. So whos gonna win??

Nintendo's DS Advanced has a dual touch screen and now supports Internet browsing. They're offering the free Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, so it looking a like a fun/cheap/light way to browse the Net on the road.

while the touch screen would certainly improve the ability to input text into dialogue boxes in the browser, the DS screens are pretty small...I'm sure you can fit a fair bit into them but I don't know how easy it would be to read them (although the revamped, soon to be released DS is supposed to have brighter screens that the first iteration)

Funny.. I ditched my Pocket PC and picked up a PSP some time back...

Although I'm digging the games much more on my mates DS, nothing can compare to my PSP in all it's 2GB memory stick glory. I'm stoked I have such a long commute. LMAO.

I find myself using my PSP mostly as an ebook reader these days though, since I use my laptop for everything else.

(Still waiting on GT4 that was due out last March...)

I wish the PSP would support msreader .lit files. I can't be asked to convert all of my ebooks to JPG files.

What is GT4?

The PSP great for those long plane rides...I can watch a movie, play some games, or just listen to MP3's. I use it to show pictures of the family, too. Though trying to type sucks, the web browser is nice feature for just point and clicking.
