Sega in Hitler controversy
Virgin.net, 1 MAY 2006
Sega are courting controversy after releasing a T-shirt featuring Adolf Hitler's face to promote a new game.
The games giant are selling a T-shirt featuring Hitler alongside Roosevelt, Stalin, Churchill, and Mussolini as part of their promotional campaign for new game 'Advanced Dai Sen Ryaku' in Japan.
The item is for sale on the company's Japanese online store, but is unlikely to be released in Western territories ...more...

Hardly surprising seeing how some stores here sell shirts with Mao on them...

The odd thing is no one is going to complain about the image of Churchill or Roosevelt...
I personally don't understand what the fuss is about.

You can buy shirts with Mao on them in the U.S. You have to be, like, ultra-rebellious though, dude. Stick it to mom and dad with your show of support for communism!

Loosely related, but interesting: I watched a documentary called "Blind Spot: Hitler's Secretary" yesterday and it was riveting. It's just one of Hitler's personal secretaries talking for over an hour, but she has quite a story to tell.

Traudle Junge wrote:Eva Braun once said to the Fuhrer, 'You know there's a statue up there [outside, above Hitler's bunker] and if you win the war, I'd like you to buy it for me.' And then he [Hitler] said: 'But I don't know who it belongs to. It's state property. I can't just buy it and put it in your private garden.' Then she said: 'But if you manage to triumph over the Russians you could make an exception just this once.' And it was really bizarre, you see, because conversations like that actually did take place, and then afterwards we would go back to discussing the best way to commit suicide.

You can get it at Amazon.
