I didn't even know Namco had the rights to CS in Japan... Interesting article.

Only 2,000 players in Japan? I knew there were SOME players of HL mods, but I had no idea it was that few. I heard that some of the development team of Metal Gear Solid 2 are CS fans, that that's why they're developing MGS Online.

I guess that my chances of tearing each and every one of them a new one have just suddenly went up about 95%. :D

"Damn barbarian American! We don't need your gaijin killing instinct here!"

At least that means I'll be able to play CS without even attempting to somehow lug my PC to Japan next year (assuming I make it.).
I just hope they don't get too pissed when I start fudging around with their control setups, assuming I can find the right commands even though they'll probably be in Japanese...

By Japan Engineering College you mean part of Nihon University, right? And where exactly is Ikebukuro? (Tokyo?)

No, I wasn't digging up that old joke. Check out the pic of one of their setups here and you can see the cupholder to the right of the screen.

I completely missed the "led-red" joke. I was thinking "led=lead" and network speed, and how often I have been in the "LeadZone".

http://www.ledzone.com/csneo/character.html

Honestly though, WTF?

...I guess only the Japanese would be able to take something as simple and realistic as modern-day counter-terrorism and turn it into something stupid and inane like CS Neo. Jeez, even the name is stupid. And they changed all the maps, too (although some of the new ones do look sort of neat...). Man, US CS fans are going to be making fun of them for years. Why couldn't they just leave the game like it was, with a few improvements (ie, new maps and higher-poly characters)?

And why don't they have the new weapons from 1.6? The Galil and Famas? They could have atleast kept the original weapon names instead of changing them just recently, like the US version did... For for years, I played with the real weapon names and they suddenly changed them to fake ones just to avoid legal problems with the firearms companies.

Ack. Brain overflowing with hatred. Must. Destroy. Namco. So much can be said, yet I don't feel like saying it all.
