Translators wanted at Tokyo Metropollitan Government

Recruitment of Fiscal Year 2005 Tokyo Metropolitan Government Foreign Language Translation Specialist
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Foreign Language Translation Specialist (*Note: this is a part-time position)

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

(1)Applicants must be less than 65 years old as of April 1, 2005 (applicants must have been born after April 1, 1941).

(2)Applicants must have a university bachelor's degree or higher
(Applicants who expect to obtain a university degree by March 31, 2005, are eligible, but second-round applicants who subsequently fail to obtain a degree will forfeit their application.)

(3)Applicants must be EITHER
(a)Native speakers of English who have passed Level 2 (or higher) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, and are able to communicate using the Japanese language, OR
(b)Native speakers of Japanese with English language ability equivalent to a TOEFL score of at least 620 (PBT) or TOEIC score of at least 950.

(1)Term of Employment
From April 1, 2005 through March 31, 2005
(Renewal may be possible)

(2)Employment Status
Part-time employee under the provisions of Article 3.3.3 of the Local Public Service Law of 1950.

(3)Number of Working Days per Month
Approximately 12 days per month

(4)Working Hours
Eight hours per day (from 9:00 to 17:45)

(5)Salary
The salary will be 20,700 yen per day before tax and employment insurance is deducted. A commutation allowance will be furnished in addition to the above salary.
