'Nama' n00b gaijin wanted

I was asked by a survey company for Japan Railways to see if any my nama gaijin friends wanted to participate in a paid focus group.
They only want fresh-off-the-boat gajiin from USA.
Send me a PM if some newcomer wants a simple one hour gig for 8,000 yen (plus transport).


Dear Sir/ Madam

We are conducting the following group interview.

For those who have the time on either of the following days and match the qualifications:
    1 hr group interview about JR (Japan Railway) systems --
      Date/time: December 1st OR 2nd 2011 7pm - 8pm
      Venue: Central Tokyo
      Payment: 8000 JPY (including transportation)
      # of people sought: 2 males and 2 females

Qualifications:
For this interview we seek people who have newly arrived in Japan and who do not speak write or read Japanese.

We seek both STUDENTS and NON-students.

1. # of years of living in Japan: LESS THAN 1 year
2. Those who CANNOT read write or speak Japanese
3. # of years of using JR: more than 1 times a month
4. Those who have ever used the train system (Metro etc) in the U.S.
5. Nationality: USA
6. Language: English
7. Age: 20 - 49
8. Occupation: Those who ever worked in such fields as train/ transportation industry tourism research/consulting advertising (BOTH in Japan and America).
9. Place of residence: Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, Kanagawa, Ibaraki, Gumma or Tochigi

Taro, are you sure #8 was not supposed to say "NEVER" instead of "ever"? That's going to limit the audience to a tiny size.

I can't imagine there are more than a handful of people that even potentially fit the criteria. Between #1, #2, #5, and #8 it means you pretty much have to be an American working as an intra-company transferee for an advertising agency, who was sent to Japan after the earthquake to do some kind of advertising work that has nothing to do with Japanese language.

The JR and the Japanese advertising agency running the focus group wrote the job description (not me) so there is no telling what they screwed up engrish-wise, hee, hee.:p

The job has had no applicants (for obvious reasons) and they are are getting desperate. My best guess is that any American fresh off the plane at Narita would have a good shot at this focus group job.
