Wine fridge

Postby GomiGirl » Tue Jun 22, 2010 3:04 pm

Needing to buy one for home use. About 30-50 bottle size should do it. Needs to be quietish though as it will be in the dining room.

Any recommendations? Brand, shop etc?

It is hard to know what is good. It is a fairly big investment.

I bought a Vinotemp at Costco about ten years ago.
It works well enough, considering.
Most wines are already spoilt to some extent before purchase in Japan.:(

Without knowing that much on wine...

Storing requires:

Darkness
Some Humidity
Steady temperature

Maybe read that one before going on a purchase:

Hubby works in hospitality so has a bit of wine.

The humidy you can always control with a glass of water in the bottom, the fridge.

What has stumped me is the best source of fridges in Japan. Costco had a Haier one that was a 50 bottle but now they only seem to have the 120 bottle one that is way too big for us. The Haier ones are cheap as they don't have a humidity control but as I said earlier, you can just use a glass of water to do that.
