Unless the guy has a R35 GTR (which is not a skyline) he is probably safe as far as the law is concerned. JASMA campaigned for a ban on aftermarket exhaust. The best deal they could get through the diet was a ban on decibel levels on cars made after 2010. Even with the new laws the only way to legally measure the noise is to go to a state sponsored inspection station. Most require an appointment and ALL AFTERMARKET EXHAUST MAKERS IN JAPAN OFFER BAFFLES or "SILENCERS" that simply slide into the tailpipe.

earthquake wrote:anyone can relate to this:

A JN ofcourse lives behind me in a house...his porch packed with empty whiskey bottles..its actually a duplex he and his wife and (kid) (s) ? live on one side, and his mammy lives on the other.

He has a skyline that he starts up every morning...and late nights around 10:00 pm...the thing is the car is very loud...he must have racing gear installed..cause it causes vibration even where I live...very anoying...this fool has got to be in his mid 40's. When I first moved here I tried to be neighborly and give he and his wife presents. I even gave his wife 10 new hot wheels to give to their (kid) (s)?. But after that the kid (s)? kept throwing toys in my yard and on my roof for at least 2 yrs until I started putting them in the trash.

I had an american flag near my mailbox , and I'm pretty sure this guy was the one ripping it off many times and throwing it on the ground.I finaly removed it. This POS used to park his skyline infront of my gate blocking me many times until I almost lost it and was going to break his neck. He saw the fury in me and stopped that particular shyt.

When the great earthquake struck on March 11, 2011 2011 05:46:24 UTC , later that day I got an email from the US embassy recomending departure. So I did . When I came back after the embassy basically said it was ok...I noticed that the service light had been busted out...I thought perhaps it was this right wing nut (more about him/them later)across the street or the m.f. behind me...but as time passes I get a strange feeling its the one behind me because when I was in Singapore I could see some construction workers repairing the the light via internt..and this m.f. from in back watching strangely curious...you know they reveal themslves much easier than in the US at times..like when they turn themselves in etc...

anyway thanks for letting me share...

Oh btw when the keystones came to check the service light ..they finger printed me...

Sorry, I didn't read the original post. To me it seems like you live in a cardboard shack. Maybe if you did some research before buying your cardboard dwelling you would have gotten a better house.

After much searching I finally invested in a house built by sumitomo that has soundproofing in all exterior walls, shatter proof auto glass in all the windows, is guaranteed to survive a 9.0 quake, solid oak floors, tile where we have water (no rubber bullshit), no visible hatches for the pipe space, ...

sorry for your failure.

I love this marketing. We charge you a premium for saying that all our houses will survive a magnitude 9.0 quake, then in the unlikely but not impossible event of a 9.0 quake (there have been, what, three in the last 100 years, globally??) we will give you your money back so long as you can prove that it was the destroyed by the quake and not by the fires raging through the neighbourhood. They are possibly pretty good odds, as far as the builder is concerned, and they possibly come out ahead even without making any modification to their construction methods. Even better, a magnitude 9.0 quake has potential to mess up the economy so much that the company goes bust for other reasons (no suppliers, logistics) even before it even has to pay any claim out.

It would be more interesting if it was guaranteed to withstand a specific shindo. Also, I trust the place is built on historically flat, stable land which has no history of being a water feature? ;)

I don't mean he's using an illegal muffler (pretty much any muffler with a tailpipe silencer will pass), I was suggesting that he was breaking noise pollution laws by making a noise over a certain decibel after a certain hour.
