Forex market in TWD?

Postby aljones15 » Wed Jun 21, 2006 2:20 am

Yeah I know this is a Japan board, but Eslcafe.com won't let me register.
Anyway, does anyone know an online foreign exchange site that let's you make a base account in NT i.e. the Taiwanese Dollar? Most of the European forex markets don't even recognize Taiwan a country much less taking their money.

I don't think anyone would allow you to base the account in NT. The trade volumes are not large enough to justify basing an account on NT. As far as I know only the 7 major currencies are available to base an account on as quotes are available for them 24/7. If you really want to trade nonetheless, then you can do a one time transfer to the clearing agent's account in NT and then pick a base currency for your account. I think any desk based market maker like fxcm or oanda will allow this.
Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms should be the name of a store, not a government agency.

that's a good point but u can open forex accounts in the Israel Shekel and the Palestinian whatever amongst others and also the Korean Wong, but then again the Wong and HKD are used by several Asian countries for to determine their exchange rates. Anyway, probably just gonna buy stock and then transfer to u.s. account and cash there. the transfer and exchange rates for NT are brutal.
