Maternity Pay

Anyone know the lowdown? My wife was told today that she will no longer receive a years pay as she originally thought. Trying to get information out of her is like getting blood out of a stone, so if anyone here has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Shes a nurse, and worked in same public hospital for over 3 years.

TIJ. Baby = carrer end for women. I don't know if there is any kind of law but if there is, it doesn't seem like it is enforced.

Damn it. Thats not good news. We weer expecting around 10man each month from her work. Fuck I dont want to be a damn wage slave having to pay for everything. Aaaah time to start peddling shabu

If it's a municipal or prefectural hospital, she's a civil servant and getting benefits like partially-paid materity leave, AFAIK.

Might need to look into that further. The maternity benefits for komuin and junkomuin have been greatly expanded over recent years. The resource management/personnel weenies at the hospital just might not have the latest info. Assuming they have a labor union (no pun intended), she might ask them to look into it.

Definitely check into this further. The maternity laws here are actually quite tough but often get flaunted.
