Recycle K-Truck

Postby Coligny » Fri Jul 16, 2010 7:16 pm

Do you already use the service of them ktruck that roam the street sometimes quite randomly with loudspeaker saying the take "resoko, airocn, (...)"

Do you know around how much it cost and what they usually take/don't take ?

They always pass too fast for me to catch up. (running in me house with irregular slippery waxed plastic flooring mean facepalm or stairs crashlanding, never broke anything, but twisted more than I ever hopped)

Because the recycle center of me village is lost in the middle of nowhere, and I don't see myself doing several trip with coaches and fridges on the roof...

Thanks for answer if any of youz have some answerz...

Image Noooooooooo! It's a scam!

The guys in the little K-trucks here in Tokyo, for example, wanted to charge me 10,000 yen to remove my dead 45" CRT big screen.

The deal is, if you fuck up and can't pay your gambling debts, you have to become one of those shit-sacks driving a "Recycle K-Truck." The poor fuckers have to drive around town (paying for gas out of their own pockets) until they find enough foolish old people or retarded gimp gaijin to pay their wild rates for removals. Some of those sorry recycle guys work for free for years to pay off their gambling debts.

Once you phone or flag down one those guys in the little K-trucks, they tell you they cannot pay you for your junk (as they advertise) but they start flashing their tattoos and try to extort 10,000+ yen per large item from you because only the stupid or desperately crippled use their services.

Only real dumbshits pay 10,000 yen per item to the guys in the little K-trucks because they cannot go down to ward office or 7-11 to buy the recycling sticker and then carry the sodai-gomi down 2 flights of stairs to the curb.

If you have a HUGE AMOUNT of crap to get rid of, look for a "bendi-ya" and negotiate for a truck load to be taken to the dump (about 20,000 yen minimum charge in Kanto).

That is interesting Taro. I was told up here that all of the stuff was being collected and shipped off to North Korea. I used them before and gave them a bunch of stuff. A stereo, an old Gateway computer and monitor, a lawn mower and two bicycles. They didn't charge me anything.
Haven't seen them recently, maybe with the ban on trade these days, there is no way to send it off to Lil' Kim.

I guess it depends on where you live.

The recycling truck scammers tried to hit me back in 1987 in Komagome, and then in 2007 unbenounced to me Mrs. Taro called them from a flyer stuck in our mailbox herr in the southernmost slums of Denechofu. Both Tokyo neighborhoods are upscale---In 2007 the K-truck driver quite frankly said to me that, "in this neighborhood a lot of old rich people will pay anything just to carry it out."

Over on the august NBR Forum, Earl Kinmonth had a similar run-in with a recycling scammers in his Waseda-professor neighborhood.

I killed a compressor a couple of years ago and paid one of these guys 5000yen to take it away. I just needed it gone and didn't want to mess around with all the BS at the ward office. Guy was nice enough and there was no pressure involved. He looked at it, said 5000yen, I said fine, he dragged it away, I went and bought a new compressor.

I have seen unusable forum interface... But this one take the cake...

To better understand my problem it's better to have seen the movie "pentagon wars". Basically, it's the same kind of clusterfarck... me bitch would do anything not to help me... the clinic is full of old junk... dad don't give a frack since he's never here. So mum and I have to deal with the problem... BUT... me bitch called the city pickup service once and now refuse to do so anymore because she decided that they would not want to pick up anything more since we are not a house but a 'business' which is not true since it officially closed 2 years ago... even if once or twice a day we still have patient coming to find closed doors...

If I was sure that I can bring all the crap to the recycle center i'd rent a flatbed van and go... but I don't know and she will do everything she can NOT to help in this case either...
(one day when the rage fall down I'll tell you aboot my daughter's daycare fiasco, but even 3 years after i'm still pissed off to no end and some more)

I'll never give my business to those self-styled "recycle" trucks on principle.

Anyone who thinks its OK to drive slowly around my neighborhood screaming at me through a high powered and very distorted amplifier system, sometimes with unintelligible and poorly chosen background music thrown in to up the annoyance factor, while I'm trying to listen to music of my own choosing in what is supposed to the peace and quiet of my own home can go take a flying fuck in a rolling donut. No way. (Politicians included).

The legit people do a perfectly acceptable job. They come quietly, throw the stuff in their conveyance and leave quietly. What's wrong with that?
