I'm new to Japan. Everything has been great so far, only problem is that I'm facing some troubles with the postage system.
I had a package with Sagawa Express from Osaka bound for Akita which was shipped out on 10 September. According to the website, I would receive the package in two days. However, it has been almost five days and nothing has arrived. I have used the tracking number provided by the seller but no status is provided. Instead, Sagawa's tracking page tells me to contact the shop for details.
Note: I have ordered from the same website before, and received my package from Sagawa Express promptly after two days.
My Japanese is pretty crappy but I've tried to do a bit of research online. I found out that Sagawa Express should issue a re-delivery notice if I was not at home to receive the package. To date, I have not seen any re-delivery notice in my mailbox although I have been checking it frequently. ]Does this mean that Sagawa Express has not delivered it? Or the re-delivery notice got lost? I searched quite a large area outside but didn't find anything though.
I emailed both the merchant and Sagawa Express regarding this matter on 14 September around 12.00pm but have yet to receive replies from either companies. I have also tried the web service for re-delivery on the Sagawa Express site using the [送り状番号]. It was scheduled to arrive today (15 September) but it didn't show up, and still no re-delivery notice. By the way, is [送り状番号] the same as the re-delivery number? I have no idea because I haven't received any notice.
Please advise!
