I walk by a couple of "REFORM" signs everyday and wonder howtheflyingfuck did the Japanese decide how リフォーム, rifōmu should mean in Japanese to remodel, renovation (as in a building) or to alter clothing.
Do any of you know of a native dialect of English that uses "reform" to mean to 'remodel'?
