Taco Bell Japan? KFC China Dragon Twister?

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Sun Oct 06, 2013 4:11 pm

Looks like Lauren Tuck at YAHOO! Shine needs to brush up on her research skills.

Pastel Tortilla Shells (Taco Bell, Japan)

As a tie-in with an upcoming movie franchise (think the “Powerpuff Girls” of Asia with “Avengers” level pull at the box office), Taco Bell is selling rainbow colored tacos through October. Each color represents one of the five magical girls in the series.

Chicken, rice and egg soup with Sichuan spicy sauce wrap is KFC's take on a traditional Beijing duck dish.

Even at the "Food" section of the madoka-magica.com website there are no tacos since Japan does not have Taco Bell (Taco Bell is famous for it's failure here in the '90s). Either its just Photoshop fun, or it's a Taiwan Taco Bell promotion that used Katakana to make the product look cool (Taiwanese have a sick love of their colonial oppressors).

I didn't think Taco Bell was ever in Japan...well, except on the US bases. It's definitely a photoshop though, same exact taco, just shaded in different colors.

You do know that you usually can't use real foodstuff for taking picture of food for pamphlet or commercial. It's always movie props tuned for shape or light reflexion. So photoshop would not be out of the loop for official annoucement.
