Yuka Honda on "Watt From Pedro" Podcast

Postby mr. sparkle » Wed Jun 21, 2006 9:37 am

As a Minutemen junkie (the seminal Jazz-Punk band not the border watcher Nazis) I discovered Mike Watt's groovy podcast, "The Watt From Pedro Show".

Yuka Honda (Cibo Matto) is a guest on the show. Listen to Yuka and Mike trade "tour spiels" and spin 3 hours of fun records. Watt even jams with Yuka on this show. Said Watt, "I hope I didn't bogart that session". He's a funny dude, for real.

She also tells us why she doesn't like touring.

Bad Sleep
No Hot Rice in the morning
Not being able to "go to toilet" when she wants

The show in general is pretty cool. Watt playing all his favorite records. His sidekick is his brother, Matt. He loves talkin' about punk rock, tour stories, and sea kayaking.

Obviously, hittin' the mota during cuts.

Good stuff, check out the RSS Feed.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never thought of the Minutemen as Jazz-punk (just thought of them as funky socialists or something) but they were the best...
