The second article mentions the Ernie Pyle Theatre which became the Takarazuka Tokyo Theatre when Hankyu bought it. It was just across the road from the Imperial Hotel:

Too bad the building was demolished...I guess it wasnt strong enough....(earthquake wise)....:(

I think Takarazuka just wanted to make more money from the site - the new building is considerably bigger.

I'd heard the name of the old theatre many times before but just assumed it was a trade name. It was only while digging out those pictures that I discovered who Ernie Pyle was and, yes Gboothe, it was via his Wikipedia entry.

Absolutely wasn't. Survived the US bombing, the fires, and so they demolished and had Aneha design a new one!
